Dr Arthur Graf
Arthur graduated in Chemistry at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he conducted research under the guidance of Prof. Luiza Rocco and Prof. Cassia Turci. During his time in Prof. Rocco's laboratory, Arthur explored the properties of metalloporphyrins using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
In 2022, he obtained his Ph.D. in chemical physics/spectroscopy from the University of Sheffield, working under the supervision of Dr. Adrien Chauvet. His research focused on investigating the excited state dynamics of porphyrins and metal complexes, employing femtosecond laser spectroscopy.
At Cardiff University/HarwellXPS, Arthur worked with Prof. Phillip Davies to investigate the surface chemistry of nanomaterials. Utilizing advanced techniques such as Photo-Induced Force Microscopy (PiFM) and XPS, to characterise surface chemistry properties of nanomaterials. Currently, Arthur is an experimental officer at HarwellXPS, the UK's national facility for XPS, located at the Research Complex at Harwell.
