Dr Martin Attwood

Martin is a senior scientist at NanoVation Therapeutics UK and his focus is on the research and development of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) in cellular and model systems for the evaluation of gene therapy approaches. Prior to starting at NanoVation, Martin completed a DPhil in Clinical Medicine from the University of Oxford in 2017. He then undertook a post-doctoral researcher position at University College London to investigate gene editing approaches using lipid-based nanoparticles. Subsequently, he then returned to the University of Oxford for a further post-doctoral position investigating the cellular functions of proteins that are responsible for regulating PTMs involved in DNA repair. Research Complex provides access to a unique scientific community in which to collaborate with a range of academic and industry-based research groups. The work is also supported through access to a number of facilities at Research Complex which is required for the development and characterisation of LNPs.
