Dr Ramona Duman

Ramona completed her PhD studies at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK, with a thesis on structural studies of bacterial ATP-dependent Lon proteases. Following a two-year post-doctoral placement in Cambridge, Ramona started working on the long-wavelength MX beamline I23 at Diamond Light Source, UK.

Research Interests

Ramona's work currently focuses on methods for sample preparation for in-vacuum long-wavelength diffraction experiments, as well as X-ray tomography on macromolecular crystals, with the aim of enabling absorption correction of long-wavelength diffraction data. Having access to the excellent facilities at Research Complex enables Ramona to perform crystallization experiments of biological targets investigated in collaboration with research groups that use beamline I23.
