Louise Dunnett

Louise joined I04-1 as a Senior Support Scientist in 2018 and became Beamline Scientist in 2022.  Since joining the team she has been responsible for doubling the beamlines sample throughput with various hardware and software optimisations including the Low Dose Studies.  In 2021 Louise was project manager for the installation of the Eiger2 XE 9M detector and the transition of MX data processing to the STFC/IRIS cloud shortly thereafter. Louise is currently working on the Diamond II Flagship Beamline, K04, where she is project manager of the new XChem Lab – The Automated XChem Lab a.k.a. ‘The AXL’, and the relevant K04 Software, in addition to continuing to develop new methods for increasing sample throughput.

Prior to working for Diamond Louise worked for OncImmune Ltd, Nottingham for several years on the production of an early lung cancer detection test.  Louise completed her BSc in Molecular Biology at the University of Sheffield, an MSc in Cancer Immunology at the University of Nottingham and her PhD at the University of Essex looking at the role of hnRNPA1 and various kinases in Small Cell Lung Cancer.
