Dr Ryan Lithgo

Ryan obtained his PhD in Structural Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Nottingham, working with Associate Professor Dave Scott, Biophysical Methods Group. Ryan joined GyreOx Therapeutics, an industrial group originally based at Research Complex, straight from his PhD and has a strong background in the biochemical and biophysical characterisation of proteins, looking at interactions between proteins and ligands. He is now a Post Doctoral Research Associate with XChem, involved with fragment screening against viral target proteins.

Research prior to joining XChem included the characterisation of silver resistance within bacteria, specifically understanding the proteins involved and how they interact with silver ions; the biophysical characterisation of therapeutic oligosaccharides; and the use of novel heterocycluc macrocycles as drug targets.
