Professor Robin Perry

Robin has worked in multiple institutions around the globe, including Birmingham, Edinburgh, St Andrews, UCL, Kyoto and Tokyo, over the 21 years he has been active professionally. His time in Japan was particularly memorable as he was tutored in the science of crystal growth by two of the recognized world leaders, Maeno (Kyoto) and Takagi (Tokyo). Upon his return to the UK, Robin leveraged this experience to establish the crystal growth laboratory at UCL and ISIS Neutron and Muon source. Since then, Robin has specialised in synthesising and characterising complex metal-oxides materials. This work has enabled his group to build a broad portfolio of collaborators worldwide from nearly every major first-world country, including Japan, Canada, France, Italy, Germany, the USA, and Argentina.

Research Interests

Robin has a diverse range of interests, including superconductivity, magnetism, photovoltaics, thermoelectrics, and transparent metals.
