Warren Thompson

Warren is a postdoctoral research associate driving the automated synthesis of follow-up compounds via the development of a web application - Chemist Assisted Robotics (CAR) – and engineering automated labware to expand the automated synthetic repertoire. The automated chemistry laboratory is hosted at the Research Complex where new chemistry can be tested alongside CAR. CAR aims to make the ride from fragment screens to the automated synthesis of follow-up compounds accessible to non-expert coders and chemists. CAR is both a review and automated chemistry robot driver where users can: review retrosynthesis routes, via commercially available compounds. Review safety, cost, and logistic information of compounds. Select synthetic pathways to execute, via automatically generated code, on an OpenTrons liquid handler.
