Dr Kai Zhang

Dr. Kai Zhang is a Research Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University College London and leading the Directed Energy Deposition team at the MSM@H group. He has rich experience in investigating micromechanics, microstructures and advanced manufacturing in various alloys and materials with modelling and advanced techniques including EBSD and in situ HR-DIC. Kai is mainly based at Research Complex, where he works closely with leading academics and industrialists to conduct research using synchrotron major facilities like Diamond Light Source and European Synchrotron Radiation Facilities. Prior to his current role, Kai was a President's PhD Scholar at Imperial College London.
