Physical Sciences

The Physical Sciences Facility is home to many academic groups from leading universities researching many differing subjects from catalytic research and batteries to additive and industrial manufacturing processes. It is also home to national facilities such as X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and several branches of the Central Laser Facility (CLF). We also have industrial groups that are based in the shared laboratory of the Physical Sciences Facility.  There are many pieces of equipment, both large and small, available for all users of the Physical Science Facility from general equipment, such as gloveboxes and furnaces, to more specific equipment for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and FT-Raman Spectrometry.
