Dr Da Guo

Da Guo joins Professor Peter Lee’s research group from April, 2023. His research topic is In situ Synchrotron Imaging of Performance-driven Aluminium Alloys for Additive Manufacturing.

Da has obtained his PhD in material science and engineering from the University of Manchester. His doctoral researches focused on the microstructure and residual stress in metal AM, mainly through synchrotron X-ray diffraction. He has conducted synchrotron experiments for both diffraction and imaging purposes at Diamond Light Source. His primary research involved the application of in-situ time-resolved techniques and innovative computational algorithms to extract information regarding stress and microstructure formation during AM processing.
