Spagnolo Group

Research in the Spagnolo group focusses on the structural studies of macromolecular machines involved in gene replication, expression and editing. Our academic affiliation is with the School of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Glasgow.

We combine cryo-EM with other structural and biophysical methods to understand how the three-dimensional shape of proteins determines their function, and the biological consequences of the interaction of proteins with DNA, RNA and small molecules.

We are always happy to discuss possible collaborations, as well as speculative applications for postdoctoral research or PhD studentships.
