Parker Group work with a range of biological and non-biological systems including coccolithophores, bacteria and nanoplastics, using the microscopy and microbiology facilities at the Research Complex at Harwell to compliment their synchrotron-based research they undertake on the beamline I14. I14 is the hard x-ray nanoprobe at Diamond Light Source, offering X-ray fluorescence, diffraction and phase contrast imaging (ptychography and differential phase contrast imaging) at the nanometer scale. Research Complex provides the group with access to sample preparation and characterisation equipment to complement and enable research on the beamline.

Julia is the Principal Beamline Scientist for the hard X-ray nanoprobe, Beamline I14 at Diamond Light Source. The beamline provides nanoscale chemical and structural mapping across life and physical science applications.

Jessica is a beamline scientist on I14 at Diamond Light Source, applying beamline techniques to questions in coccolith and sea urchin biomineralization.

Hallam is an undergraduate placement student with Parker Group at Diamond Light Source. Under the supervision of Dr Jessica Walker, he is investigating biomineralisation in coccolithophores, and calcite crystallisation, using the I14 hard X-ray nanoprobe.
Reham Gonnah

Reham is a postgraduate researcher at Parker Group. Her PhD project is collaboration between the University of Leeds (School of Dentistry) and Diamond Light Source where her time during the project is split between the two institutions.
