The UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) will take place this November 2021 and in preparation, the Harwell campus is coming together to commit towards sustainability and a greener economy.
The UK has a strong record of investment in research and innovation for clean growth and environmental sustainability and recent publications from Research Complex has seen research dedicated to creating more efficient and sustainable materials and taking huge strides towards efficient production of renewable energy.
UKRI is starting to outline plans that will ‘encourage new ways of living that enable the UK to reach net zero by 2050. We will celebrate the breadth and diversity of our communities and the vital contribution researchers and innovators are making towards climate action’ (UKRI news, 8th June 2021).
