Bruker MultiRAM

The Bruker MultiRAM is an FT-Raman that uses a 1065nm 500mW laser to achieve a usable range of 3600-50 cm-1. Coupled with the Opus software it allows for accurate data capture and analysis of solid, liquid and powder samples.

Raman spectroscopy is a technique that looks to analyse materials by subjecting them to a beam of energy and looking at the resultant photon release from the excited molecular bonds returning to its original energy state. The energy of the photon can be compared to the energy of the original beam and from this the molecule can be identified. The advantages of Raman spectroscopy is that it is non-destructive, so can be used to identify samples without the worry of losing them. Solids, liquids and powders can easily be identified by the Research Complex’s Bruker MultiRAM.
