Light Scattering

Light scattering is a non-invasive technique for characterizing macromolecules and a wide range of particles in solution. Research Complex has a Malvern Panalytical Zetasizer Advance Ultra (red). This is a cuvette-based system capable of measuring the hydrodynamic radius, molecular weight and concentration of particles using dynamic light scattering (DLS), as well as their Zeta potential (surface charge) using electrophoretic light scattering. The system can make multi-angle DLS measurements to remove the angular dependence from the DLS result, offering higher sensitivity and resolution compared to using one angle only. It can measure samples in the size range of 0.3 nm – 15 µm making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
