Flow Induced Dispersion Analysis (FIDA)

Research Complex has a Fida 1 Analyzer from FidaBio, which is an extremely versatile system capable of studying a wide range of molecules in a vast range of liquid environments. The Fida 1 measures the fluorescence of particles in a capillary under laminar flow conditions and analyses their dispersion over time, which allows for calculation of the hydrodynamic radius of the particles of interest. It has applications in molecule characterisation, molecular interactions, detergent screening, sample optimisation, sample QC, and drug discovery. It uses very small sample volumes and the samples are recoverable after the analysis. The system is equipped with both 280 nm and 480 nm detectors.
