Research at Harwell

Research Complex at Harwell  is a world-class institution dedicated to research across the life and physical sciences, based at the heart of Harwell’s thriving science and technology campus. Building on synergies with the other large-scale facilities at Harwell, such as the Diamond Light Source, ISIS Neutron and Muon Source, Central Laser Facility and the Rosalind Franklin institute, our mission is to accelerate research collaboration, and generate internationally leading science, by convening research teams from over 25 UK universities and industry under one roof and training the next generation of scientists and engineers, assisted by a core team of expert staff.

Cellular and Molecular Biology

The Membrane Protein Laboratory (MPL) is a Wellcome Trust funded user facility and the XChem Laboratory developing methodology in computational and synthetic chemistry for Diamond Light Source.
