Electron Microscopy
The Electron Microscopy Facility enables researchers to investigate the structure, composition and behaviour of materials and biological samples at exceptionally high resolution. Combining advanced imaging capabilities with expert technical support, the facility supports collaborative research across the life and physical sciences, helping researchers understand materials, biological systems and complex scientific processes.
Facilities and expertise
Researchers have access to a broad range of electron microscopy capabilities supporting imaging, characterisation and structural analysis across diverse scientific applications. Available techniques include transmission and scanning electron microscopy, supported by specialist instrumentation such as the Glacios cryo-transmission electron microscope, the JEM-2100 transmission electron microscope and the JBM-4700F dual beam microscope, alongside expert technical support. Our facilities continue to evolve, so if you require a particular technique or capability, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
