Simone Weyand has won the prestigious John Kendrew Young Scientist Award

Simone Weyand, a structural biologist from Imperial College London who works at the Research Complex at Harwell (RcaH), has won the prestigious John Kendrew Young Scientist Award of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory.
Simone was selected for her impressive work on the structures of secondary transporters and G-protein-coupled-receptors. Working in So Iwata’s group at the RCaH, and also at the UK synchrotron Diamond Light Source, she recently contributed to the structure determination of the Human Histamine H1 Receptor. This receptor is an important target for drugs to combat allergies and inflammation. To read more click here.
